"At the Prague summit we decided not to be discouraged. We decided
to be better organised in order to use the opportunity offered by
the promised open doors policy," Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino
Picula said at a joint news conference in Dubrovnik held with his
counterparts from Albania and Macedonia.
"The three countries -- Albania, Croatia and Macedonia -- have
decided to preserve and strengthen their cooperation in the spirit
of the Vilnius Group in order to be immediately organised in their
attempts aimed at their entry into NATO," Picula said.
U.S. Ambassador to Croatia Lawrence Rossin was also present at the
meeting.
Picula and the foreign ministers of Albania, Ilir Meta, and
Macedonia, Ilinka Mitreva, harmonised the last details of a charter
on cooperation between the United States, Albania, Croatia and
Macedonia, which they, together with U.S. State Secretary Colin
Powell, are to sign in Washington later this month.
The three ministers adopted a joint statement calling on Iraq to
fully and unconditionally meet the terms and conditions of the
above-mentioned resolution, or Baghdad will have to face the
consequences.
