EUPM spokesman Jon Oskar Solnes said that out of the fifteen bombing
cases registered in January by local police across Bosnia, only two
had been proven to be ethnically motivated.
According to information available to the mission, it is reasonable
to conclude that the crime rate in the country is not increasing and
that local police are doing their job well, Solnes said, suggesting
that media reports on increased violence and crime in Bosnia were
not founded on facts.
Individual incidents, no matter how serious, do not necessarily
depict the general situation, he said.
