The Sarajevo-based daily "Dnevni avaz" on Sunday quoted Covic as
saying claims that the agreement encroached on Croatia's
sovereignty were unacceptable because Bosnia could claim the same
for an agreement on free passage through its southern town of Neum.
Covic said the unresolved status of Ploce port was not the only
problem burdening relations between the two countries.
He also claimed that relations between Bosnia-Herzegovina and
Croatia were "cooler" due to the attitude of Croatia's executive
authorities to the Bosnian Croat people.
"I am confident that we can solve any problem without questioning
sovereignty. Certainly, on condition Zagreb realises that Croats
in Bosnia-Herzegovina have decided to settle their problems on
their own, through institutions of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and that
they find permanent concern for them too irritating," Covic said,
remaining vague about whether relations between Zagreb and
Sarajevo were better or worse than before.
