ZAGREB, Feb 18 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and Prime Minister Ivica Racan on Thursday will officially sign an application for Croatia's membership of the European Union, in the presence of Parliament President Zlatko
Tomcic, the government's public relations office said in a statement on Tuesday.
ZAGREB, Feb 18 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and Prime
Minister Ivica Racan on Thursday will officially sign an
application for Croatia's membership of the European Union, in the
presence of Parliament President Zlatko Tomcic, the government's
public relations office said in a statement on Tuesday. #L#
Racan will officially submit the application to his Greek
counterpart Constantinos Simitis in Athens on Friday. Greece is
currently chairing the EU.
After the signing, there will be a brief presentation of a
promotional CD which is to be enclosed wih the application. Mesic,
Racan, and Tomcic will then address journalists.
Also present at the signing at the government building will be
Foreign Minister Tonino Picula, European Integration Minister
Neven Mimica, Mesic's advisor on foreign affairs Tomislav Jakic,
Croatia's Ambassador to the Permanent Mission to the EU Vladimir
Drobnjak, Deputy European Integration Minister Mirjana Mladineo
and Assistant European Integration Ministers Visnja Samardzija and
Tamara Obradovic.
The leaders of all parliamentary parties will be invited to attend
the signing.
