Racan's visit to Athens was scheduled for February 18 when Croatia
should officially submit its application to join the EU.
Before arriving for a SDP Presidency session, Racan told reporters
he did not know when he would hold talks with the president of the
Croatian Peasants Party, Zlatko Tomcic.
Commenting on the Suncani Hvar hotel company case, Racan said he had
said everything he had to say at the government's open session, and
added that it was not necessary to heighten tensions regarding the
issue.
"Such issues should be solved with more consideration and I do not
wish to add fuel to the flames. If anybody thinks that the problem is
bigger than the government assessed it to be, they must prove it,"
said Racan.
He reiterated that the government would on Thursday discuss the
sale of the Sisak Ironworks.
"As big as our problems may seem, we must take into account global
movements and protect our national interests," Racan said.
The SDP Presidency is holding a session behind closed doors. No
statements for the press are scheduled after it.
