group of citizens. The citizens were signing a petition against a war in Iraq, which has been signed by some 7,000 people in Rijeka, Split and Pula.
RIJEKA, Feb 14 (Hina) - Around one hundred citizens gathered in
downtown Rijeka on Friday for a peaceful protest, dubbed "Enough of
Wars!", which was organised by the AD HOC group of citizens. The
citizens were signing a petition against a war in Iraq, which has
been signed by some 7,000 people in Rijeka, Split and Pula. #L#
Aljosa Babic, leader of the New Alternative Party (SNA), which
organised the event, told reporters that once the signing of the
petition was over, it would be sent to President Stjepan Mesic, the
Foreign Ministry and the US Embassy.
"I believe that most citizens are against war in Iraq and that
Croatia must not support it," Babic said.
