The union's leader, Dubravko Jagic, told Hina on the phone that 80
percent of policemen joined in today's 15-minute work stoppage, and
that besides union memebrs, other police officers also
participated.
Asked to comment on a statement of the independent union of
employees with the interior ministry, which appealed on the
ministry's workers not to join in the protest, Jagic said that it
was obviously not in the interest of that union to improve the
protection of its members and the police in general.
Commenting on the turnout at the protest, the ministry's public
relations office said that according to data collected from the
ground, only four policemen had observed the work stoppage.
