Upon the apprehension last Saturday, the arrested men were taken to
prison, and will be kept in custody for one month.
According to a Belgrade radio, at the rally, called "Liberty to
Liberators", the protesters demanded of Serbian authorities to set
free immediately the seven former members of the Liberation Army of
Presevo, Medveda and Bujanovac, the towns in south Serbia mainly
populated by Albanians.
During the arrest of the suspects, a great amount of arms and
ammunition was found, the same radio reported.
"The aim of this protest is to show to Serbian government and the
international community that the situation here is not O.K. and
that it is the Serbian government that is trying to provoke
incidents and heighten tensions in the area," said Orhan Rexhepi, a
local politician.
