ZAGREB, Feb 4 (Hina) - The Education and Sports Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday the salaries of primary and secondary school employees for January would be reduced by days they spent on strike, however, the missing amount
would be paid within 15 days at the latest after teachers carried out backlogs of duties.

The ministry said that the government's decision was not a
"robbery" nor a violation of the collective agreement as claimed on
Monday by the head of the Croatian Teachers' Union, Dalimir Kuba.
Kuba's statements are completely unfounded and aimed at
"destabilising the school system", the statement noted.
