ZAGREB, Feb 11 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan and Defence Minister Zeljka Antunovic on Tuesday visited a military police platoon whose members will be travelling to Afghanistan this month. As the first Croatian Armed
Forces unit, the military police will take part in a UN peace mission there.
ZAGREB, Feb 11 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan and
Defence Minister Zeljka Antunovic on Tuesday visited a military
police platoon whose members will be travelling to Afghanistan this
month. As the first Croatian Armed Forces unit, the military police
will take part in a UN peace mission there. #L#
Racan said he was certain the police officers would perform their
tasks well and defend Croatia's honour and flag. He recalled that
Croatia had so far participated in various peace missions and knew
how to appreciate a battle for peace.
Croatian Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff Josip Lucic said the unit was
fully prepared for coming tasks.
Forty-four (44) members of the military police platoon, four of
whom are women, volunteered for the mission.
