As part of its international activities and on the basis of
partnership and solidarity with the Vilnius Group, the Republic of
Croatia has supported the Vilnius Group's statement of Wednesday,
read the statement.
The Vilnius Group consists of seven new NATO members -- Bulgaria,
Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, and
three countries aspiring to join the Alliance -- Albania, Croatia
and Macedonia.
The statement of the said group backs efforts of the United States
and the international community aimed at the disarmament of Iraq as
well as the unconditional honouring of UN Resolution 1441, which
stipulates the full cooperation with UN inspectors on the ground.
Zagreb also voices concern over possible proliferation of mass-
desctruction weapons, which poses the most serious threat to the
international safety and security, the Croatian ministry's
statement said.
