ZAGREB, Jan 27 (Hina) - A former Croatian Foreign Ministry advisor and spokesman is suspected of having damaged the ministry by some 143,500 kuna (19,130 euros) through abuse of office and powers, the county prosecutor's office in

This office today requested Zagreb's county court to launch an
investigation of Zeljko Trkanjec.
He is suspected of having kept cash from advances for official trips
and having used an official credit card for personal purposes while
holding the posts at the Foreign Ministry -- first as diplomatic
advisor and later as advisor to the minister -- between March 1997
and January 2000.
He abused office and powers, damaging the Foreign Ministry by
143,542 kuna in the process, said Krunoslav Canjuga, prosecutor for
Zagreb County.
