Libra MPs moved the amendment during a debate on a government bill
on community service yesterday.
Libra believes the state of national security today is much better
and a professional army will be more capable of defending the
country and contributing to Croatia's accelerated joining security
and military-political associations.
Parliament also endorsed and sent to the second reading a bill on
the establishment of a single register of annual financial reports,
to include all basic business data of companies operating in the
country.
The register would enable business people to submit annual
financial reports into a single database instead of at commercial
courts, the tax administration and the statistics bureau, which is
the current practice.
Josko Kontic of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) demanded
that debates on the privatisation of the Suncani Hvar hotel chain
and the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant be included in the agenda.
Parliament President Zlatko Tomcic said the government was
gathering documentation on the issues and they would be included in
the agenda after the documentation was submitted to parliament.
The HSLS bench then requested a 15-minute recess.
