PRISTINA, Jan 9 (Hina) - The head of the OSCE mission in Kosovo,
Ambassador Pascal Fieschi, on Wednesday called on local Serb
deputies to return to benches of the Kosovo parliament. #L#
Twenty two (22) representatives of the Serb coalition "Povratak
(Return)" have boycotted the work of the Kosovo parliament since 7
November 2002, because of, as they say, their unequal treatment.
Ambassador Fieschi from the Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) forwarded this call after his talks
with the parliament's president, Nexhat Daci.
Our advice to Serb representatives is to come back to the assembly
and speak on behalf of those who elected them, Fieschi added.
The Kosovo assembly is to convene on Thursday for the first time
this year. Serb MPs are currently staying in Belgrade where they are
conducting talks with top Yugoslav and Serbian officials on their
further moves.
