The government believes that the topic should be discussed and that
it cannot keep it in its desk, Granic told Damir Kajin of the Istrian
Democratic Assembly who asked whether the government would, even at
the cost of a general strike, insists on the said amendments.
The government will propose to parliament to open a debate on the
amendments to the labour legislation based on facts and arguments,
Granic said.
Kajin said that the amendments, namely the reduction of workers'
rights, would affect about 650,000 workers in the first stage.
