ZAGREB, Jan 30 (Hina) - The leaders of five union federations should
next week sign an agreement on an all-union convention and union
activities against changes to the Labour Act. #L#
The convention, to be held on February 13, should result in the
adoption of a decision on organising a referendum on a general
strike, which the unions intend to organise if they fail to reach
agreement with the government on the changes, the leader of the
Association of Workers' Trade Unions of Croatia, Boris Kunst,
said.
The draft agreement, which the unions are yet to adjust, also
contains a resolution declaring the year 2003 "the year of the fight
for the dignity of Croatian workers" and defining joint union
activities.
