"In mid-January the State Prosecution received from the parliament
president a letter which notes that some Croatian citizens and
companies suffered damage in business deals with Slovene companies
in the neighbouring country," Bajic told Hina.
The parliamentary president and leader of the Croatian Peasant
Party, Zlatko Tomcic, told reporters after a session of the party
presidency yesterday that he had sent the letter to the president of
the state, the government and the chief state prosecutor. The
letter, he said, warned about business deals in Slovenia, in which
Croatian citizens were allegedly damaged by 200 million Canadian
dollars. Tomcic would not comment on any details from the letter,
nor identify its author.
Bajic, too, would not comment on this, stating only that the Zagreb
County Prosecution was dealing with the case.
