The panel of judges has decided to extend Topalovic's detention
until the end of the trial, said Kebo.
After being arrested a month ago, Topalovic gave a statement to
police in which he claimed that he had committed the murder for
"ideological religious reasons". According to the media, Topalovic
is a member of vehabi, a radical Islamic order, which was
established in Saudi Arabia in the 19th century, and which does not
recognise any other religion.
A year ago, Topalovic was released from a Serbian prison after
serving two years. Having returned to Bosnia, he told the media that
he had gone to Serbia to kill the then Serbian president, Slobodan
Milosevic.
After the murder of the three Bosnian Croats, Topalovic's parents
publicly disowned him.
