Milutinovic voluntarily surrendered to the Hague tribunal on
Monday.
The Serbian government, too, sent the tribunal a guarantee for
Milutinovic.
Milutinovic, who will be arraigned on January 27, is charged with
crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of
war, including the deportation of about 740,000 Kosovo Albanians,
mass murders of civilians, forced resettlement of the population,
and political oppression based on racial and religious
differences, committed in Kosovo in 1999.
Milutinovic is indicted together with former Yugoslav President
Slobodan Milosevic, Yugoslavia's former Deputy Premier Nikola
Sainovic, and former military chief-of-staff Dragoljub Ojdanic.
The fifth on the indictment, former police minister Vlajko
Stoiljkovic, committed suicide in the spring of 2002.
