ZAGREB, Jan 21 (Hina) - The heads of the five ruling coalition
parties on Tuesday adopted a concept of transforming the
privatisation process. The concept will enter government procedure
by the beginning of March, after which it will be forwarded into
parliament, Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS) president Zlatko Tomcic
said after a coalition meeting Tuesday. #L#
He said the aim of the concept was to assimilate ownership shares
and Croatian Privatisation Fund shares with other state-run
property into a state property fund, while the law on bankruptcy
should create conditions for the establishment of an agency for
state claims.
Tomcic believes the above solutions are good and in line with the
HSS's wishes -- a more responsible approach towards the state's
property.
During the discussion on privatisation, the coalition's leaders
also tackled the issue of the Suncani Hvar company, but Tomcic said
the discussion was not completed and no conclusions had been made
today.
According to earlier announcements, the government should make a
decision on selling the hotel company to Slovenia's Terme Catez
company at Thursday's session.
The five officials agreed in principle to forward a reform of the
labour legislature into procedure, it was reported.
The leaders of the five ruling parties, who were joined by the
members of the Ivica Racan cabinet, also discussed the doctors'
strike. According to information at hand, the health minister will
hold talks with representatives of the Croatian Doctors' Union and
its strike committee on Wednesday.
The ruling coalition is scheduled to meet again tomorrow night
after a session of the Economic and Social Council which will be
attended by Racan, as announced.
