and not to send their children to school tomorrow. #L#
The union has organised the five-day strike given that the
government has decided to allocate the additional funds for the
schooling system only for salaries of teachers, while it does not
want to increase salaries of non-teaching staff.
The SHU union also insists that the Education Ministry should
earmark from its budget additional 80 million kuna so that the gross
salary of employees with primary schools could rise by 10 percent.
Besides SHU members, the union of employees in the Croatian
schooling system will join the strike.
At Sunday's news conference, SHU leaders informed that in recent
days great pressure had been exerted on union members to abandon
plans for strike and to work regularly on Monday.
