The ICTY Prosecution on December 19 last year suggested that the
Tribunal form such a team and the ICTY approved the request the
following day, before the winter recess, Hartmann said.
The ICTY started working this week after a two-week holiday break.
Trials will resume on Wednesday.
According to diplomatic sources, the doctors could visit Croatia in
two to three weeks.
After General Bobetko was transferred to hospital in mid-November
due to his deteriorated condition, the Croatian authorities on
November 28 notified the ICTY that they could not execute the
tribunal's warrant for Bobetko's arrest based on an indictment
which charges the former Croatian Armed Forces' Chief-of-Staff
with crimes committed during the 1993 Medak Pocket Operation.
