Prosper's visit to Zagreb later this month will be an opportunity
for Croatia's authorities to brief him about cooperation with the
U.N. war crimes tribunal, the developments in the region since his
last visit, as well as about the outcome of the Bobetko case, the
embassy said in a statement.
Prosper told reporters on Tuesday he was dissatisfied with
Croatia's, Yugoslavia's, and Bosnia's cooperation with the Hague
tribunal due to their failure to arrest war crimes indictees. He
announced he would visit Zagreb, Belgrade, Sarajevo, and Banja Luka
later this month to demand the arrests.
He will request Croatian authorities to arrest Gen. Janko Bobetko,
who is in hospital, and Gen. Ante Gotovina, who is at large.
The embassy statement further noted that Croatia's Ambassador to
the United States, Ivan Simonovic, said that Croatia's authorities
and the embassy in the U.S. enjoyed a constant and very good
cooperation with Mr Prosper which was particularly intensive when
Croatia received the Bobetko indictment.
