Hodzic, said in Mostar on Wednesday.
MOSTAR, Dec 11 (Hina) - The International Criminal Tribunal for the
former Yugoslavia (ICTY) expects the new government in Bosnia-
Herzegovina to advance cooperation, the coordinator of the Hague-
based tribunal for Bosnia, Refik Hodzic, said in Mostar on
Wednesday. #L#
He said this commenting on relations with the Hague-based tribunal
and the new government in Bosnia, which currently consists of
national parties that won the recent election in that country.
According to Hodzic, cooperation with certain countries and the
Hague-based tribunal is an individual obligation of each country
regardless of what party is in government. He explained that
relations between the Hague-based tribunal and individual
countries is regulated by the Statute that was adopted by the UN
Security Council.
Hodzic also announced that early next week a debate would be held in
the Tribunal about the sentence for Biljana Plavsic, the former
president of Republika Srpska and a member of the highest ranking
leadership of the Bosnian Serbs during the war.
