MOSTAR, Jan 3 (Hina) - The European Union has approved a total of 78 million euros as assistance to Bosnia-Herzegovina this year, while in 2002 this assistance for reforms in the country totalled 190 million euros.

million euros as assistance to Bosnia-Herzegovina this year, while

The head of the European Commission's delegation in Bosnia, Michael
Humphreys, said at a news conference in Sarajevo on Friday that
during 2003 the EU would finance 204 programmes for development in
Bosnia.
Last week Bosnian authorities signed an agreement worth EUR60
million on support to be given to the state's and the two entities'
budgets.
The EU funds will be invested in the adjustment of Bosnian laws to
European standards and in the reform of the national judiciary as
well as in the economic and social development of the country and
the return of refugees.
The Irish diplomat said that upon the establishment of the new
Bosnian Council of Ministers, the EC delegation in Sarajevo and the
Bosnian government would start drawing up a feasibility study on
Bosnia's entry to the EU together.
