Kunst, who held a news conference in Zagreb today, severely criticised the government and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader for what he said were attempts to buy time while they failed to fulfill the promises they made to trade unions as a social partner.
To corroborate his claims, Kunst said the government had previously pledged to hold talks with unionists on a planned tax reform, but in the end unionists heard of the final version of the reform from the press.
According to him, although the government promised to trade unions that they would be engaged in discussions on a draft budget for 2005, they eventually received the final draft only to read it.
