After the meeting with Suica, the New York mayor visited the memorial house in tribute to the later US Commerce Minister Ron Brown, who was killed in a plane crash in 1996 near Dubrovnik, while he was on a visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia.
Mayor Suica presented the US guest with a copy of the charter from 1783 with which the then Republic of Dubrovnik recognised the United States of America.
