The project is an international production of Franz Abram and Walter Haupt and it involves some 400 performers. "Carmina Burana" is about love, life, birth, passion and death.
The German composer Carl Orff (1895-1982) composed the opera according to mediaeval songs which he translated into Latin and Old German.
The opera premiered in 1937 and since then it has thrilled audiences and intrigued world musicians as one of the most frequently performed and best known works of the 20th century classical music.
A packed Sports Hall gave the performers a standing applause.
