Grabar-Kitarovic informed her guests of Croatia's efforts to join European institutions and thanked France for the support it extended to Croatia when it was granted the status of country-candidate for the European Union membership.
The French officials were interested in additional criteria which Croatia should meet in the fields of refugee returns, reform in the judiciary, regional cooperation and cooperation with the Hague-based UN war crimes tribunal. In this context, Andre commended Croatia for the efforts it was investing for this purpose, spokeswoman Crnic said.
Senator Pierre Faucon asked the minister about the freedom of media in Croatia, the spokeswoman said.
Minister Grabar Kitarovic informed him of the cooperation between Croatia and the Council of Europe and the OSCE during the elaboration of the national legislation on the media. It was concluded that the situation was being improved considerably with regard to media freedoms, Crnic said.
On Thursday, Grabar-Kitarovic is due to meet for talks with French Minister of European Affairs, Claudie Haignere, at whose invitation she arrived in Paris. She will also be received by some other officials.
