The talks were held in a friendly and cordial atmosphere, with the two ministers stressing the importance of a meeting of the European Council in Brussels on December 17, when a date for the start of membership talks between Croatia and the European Union is expected to be set.
The meeting confirmed that relations between the two countries were stable, friendly and based on partnership, and that France actively supported Croatia in its efforts to join the EU, the statement said.
Earlier on Sunday, Zuzul was a guest at a convention of France's ruling UMP party, where the current Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industry, Nicolas Sarkozy, was elected new party president.
On Monday, Zuzul travels to The Hague to attend a ministerial meeting of the Euro-Mediterranean Process, which takes place on November 29 and 30, the statement said.
