The newly-appointed French ambassador pledged his country's support to Croatia in forthcoming negotiations on EU membership and underlined the role of Croatia as a leading country and a factor of stability in the region.
Saint-Paul said France believed that Croatia was on the right road and that it was doing all it could to meet the expectations of the international community.
Mesic thanked France for its active support, saying that it had always recognised the achievements and efforts Croatia had made on its path to EU membership. He added that Croatia also wanted to continue developing good relations at multilateral level, particularly in its efforts to join the EU and NATO.
The Zambian ambassador said he would continue working on improving relations between Zambia and Croatia.
Mesic said that Croatia's main goal was to become a full member of the European Union, but that it would not disregard cooperation with countries from other continents in all areas of common interest.
