Croatia's presentation is founded on the concept, plan and metaphor of the salt works.
The topic of EXPO 2005 is "The Wisdom of Nature". It is expected that 127 countries will participate in the exhibition and that 15 million people will see it.
Croatia, whose slogan will be "A Drop of Water - A Grain of Salt", will have a two-storey pavilion and five themes. Visitors will be given a grain of salt to symbolise a grain of wisdom and a small custom-made bottle of sea water with the inscription "A Drop of Water - A Grain of Salt, Croatia".
Croatia will share the pavilion with Greece. The location is excellent because of its proximity to the pavilions of Italy, France, Germany, and Spain, which are traditionally seen by many people.
Croatia's national day will be April 12. Croatia's host will be the city of Hekinan, which will sponsor several events to be held on the occasion of the national day.
Tonci Tadic of the Party of Rights (HSP), one of the initiators of the Croatian presentation, said in Parliament the initially planned 35 million kuna for the presentation had been cut to 25 million. He urged the Government to secure the necessary means because the presentation was very important for Croatia's world promotion.
The presentation in Parliament was attended by Japanese Ambassador Ikeda Kaname.
