ZAGREB, Dec 1 (Hina) - Croatia will be able to use 25 million euroswithin the EU's SAPARD programme in 2006, and for that purpose itshould accelerate efforts aimed at drafting a national plan for thefarming sector and the development
of rural areas, and at establishinga SAPARD agency.
ZAGREB, Dec 1 (Hina) - Croatia will be able to use 25 million euros
within the EU's SAPARD programme in 2006, and for that purpose it should
accelerate efforts aimed at drafting a national plan for the farming sector and
the development of rural areas, and at establishing a SAPARD agency.The Croatian Chamber of the Economy on Wednesday organised a seminar on
the SAPARD programme (Special Pre-accession Assistance for Agriculture and
Rural Development), which is an EU pre-accession fund for central and eastern
European countries.
The main priority is to help contribute to the implementation of
European regulations in agriculture and rural development.
Funds from SAPARD are awarded to direct producers rather than the
state.
A SAPARD agency is likely to be established in Croatia in summer
2005.
