DEPUTY PM HEBRANG AT CEFTA SUMMIT IN SOFIA

ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Andrija Hebranginformed the participants in the CEFTA (Central European Free TradeAgreement) summit in Sofia on Tuesday of the current economicsituation in Croatia and the government's plans regarding theconsolidation of the economy aimed at advancing the country'scompetitiveness, as part of the process of associating with theEuropean Union, official sources reported.
ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Andrija Hebrang informed the participants in the CEFTA (Central European Free Trade Agreement) summit in Sofia on Tuesday of the current economic situation in Croatia and the government's plans regarding the consolidation of the economy aimed at advancing the country's competitiveness, as part of the process of associating with the European Union, official sources reported.

Participants in the summit in Bulgaria's capital said that CEFTA was a forum aimed at strengthening of economic and trade cooperation of central and south-east European countries and an important instrument in the preparations for full EU membership.

At the meeting, which was attended by representatives of Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Macedonia, it was confirmed that Croatia would take over the CEFTA chairmanship next year.

Apart from Hebrang, Croatia's delegation at the summit also included the Foreign Ministry's State Secretary Hido Biscevic and Economy Ministry's State Secretary Vladimir Vrankovic.
