STATISTICS: EXPORTS RISE BY 14.4 %, IMPORTS BY 5.8 %

ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - Croatian exports rose by 14.4 percent to 39.64billion kuna in the first ten months of 2004 in comparison to the sameperiod in 2003, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported on Tuesday.
ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - Croatian exports rose by 14.4 percent to 39.64 billion kuna in the first ten months of 2004 in comparison to the same period in 2003, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported on Tuesday.

Imports in the first ten months this year rose by 5.8 percent to 82.39 billion kuna.

The coverage of import by export was 48.1 percent, and the trade deficit came to 42.75 billion kuna.

Expressed in US dollars, exports increased by 26.5 percent to 6.5 billion dollars with imports rising 17.1 percent to $13.5 billion. Consequently, the deficit came to seven billion dollars, which was a 9.5-percent rise in comparison to the first ten months of 2003.
