"As soon as relevant information is updated, in a few days or weeks, you will be presented with a report on traffic accidents caused by driving under the influence of alcohol," Mlinaric said in response to Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) deputy Zvonimir Puljic's request to present data on the results of the Road Safety Act.
According to those data, between July and October this year the number of traffic offences dropped by one half in relation to the same period of 2003, which the minister said could be attributed to the strict implementation of the law.
The number of people killed in traffic accidents dropped by 90, the number of seriously injured persons dropped by 341, and the number of lightly injured people dropped by 1,344, Mlinaric said, adding though that the number of persons killed in traffic accidents in June had risen by 43 in relation to June 2003.
