BELGRADE, Oct 20 (Hina) - Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Passy, who is also the current chairman of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), held talks with Serbian President Boris Tadic and Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica in Belgrade on Wednesday.

At the talks Passy said his country was ready to help Serbia-Montenegro on its road towards the EuroAtlantic institutions and added that the OSCE supported the territorial integrity of that state union.

We understand all legitimate reasons for concern of Serbs in Kosovo who fear for their security during the forthcoming elections and I would like to assure them that the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), the OSCE, and NATO-led Kosovo Force will do all to ensure their safety and security on the day of the elections, Passy said after meeting Tadic.

Tadic said that his call on Kosovo Serbs to go to the polls on 23 October was also "the request addressed to the international community to ensure all standards for the decentralisation of Kosovo within the next three months in the sectors of the education, judiciary and police.

Tadic described the situation in Kosovo as disastrous and added that the independence of Kosovo "is absolutely unacceptable for Serbia-Montenegro".
