The Embassy quoted Vajgl as saying the following of the October 7 incident: "The Croatian ship came too close to Slovene territorial waters and without announcement, as is common international practice. Something completely unacceptable happened again and someone is again testing the patience and shifting the limits of the normal to the abnormal."
Croatia's defence and foreign ministries said in separate statements on Friday that Vajgl had told the Slovene state-run television network TV Slovenija on Thursday that a Croatian warship had entered the Bay of Piran and that it was "an unacceptable act and incident".
According to the Embassy statement, Vajgl also said that Slovenia would have to take certain diplomatic steps.
Until the issue is settled at the negotiating table, both parties to the dispute should refrain from incidents. At the moment Croatia obviously wants to create new facts and try to prejudge a solution to the issue, the statement said.
The Embassy concluded by saying that the statements of Minister Vajgl were available on Slovene media web pages and recorded on a tape possessed by TV Slovenija.
