According to the recommendation, the highest interest rates stipulated by contracts on monetary obligations would be 17 percent annually for companies, and 21 percent for individuals.
The default rates will not be higher than 15 percent and will apply to both companies and individuals.
The decision of the committee, which consists of Finance Ministry officials, and representatives of the national bank, the Croatian Employers' Association, the Croatian Chamber of the Economy, the national banks' association and the Croatian Consumer Protection Association, should soon be considered by the government.
