PRISTINA, Oct 1 (Hina) - US diplomat Lawrence Rossin took up the postof first deputy to the UN civil administrator of Kosovo, Soeren JessenPetersen, in Pristina on Friday.
PRISTINA, Oct 1 (Hina) - US diplomat Lawrence Rossin took up the post of first deputy to the UN civil administrator of Kosovo, Soeren Jessen Petersen, in Pristina on Friday.

Rossin served as US ambassador to Croatia from 2001 to 2003, and before that he ran the US mission in Kosovo, which was established in July 1999 after NATO's military intervention. Until now he has worked as US deputy assistant secretary of state for Europe and Euroasia.

Kosovo institutions welcomed Rossin's appointment, saying that he was well acquainted with the situation in Kosovo and the region.
