Grossman said the decision was on the Serb people and added he had not expected a positive answer during talks with Serb representatives. He reiterated the reasons why Serbs should go to the polls and be included in the political life and discussions on important topics such as the decentralisation of powers and the application of international standards.
The senior US diplomat reiterated the standpoint of his country and other international factors that Kosovo must be a democratic and multiethnic society with standards that would bring the province closer to Europe.
Grossman also held talks with the UN Civil Administrator in Kosovo Soeren Jessen Petersen and the commander of the NATO-led Kosovo Force, General Yves De Kermabon. He said the U.S. administration wold support their work.
