PRISTINA, Sept 26 (Hina) - Talks on Kosovo's final status could start in the middle of next year, UN Civil Administrator in Kosovo Soren Jessen Petersen said upon returning from New York on Sunday.

During his stay in Ney York, Petersen held talks with UN officials, the foreign ministers of the Contact Group member countriws and representatives of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and NATO.

Petersen told reporters in Pristina it was particularly important that Kosovo Serbs take part in dialogue and the general elections in October.
