The indictment, issued on Tuesday, charges Agron Ibrahmi, Nexhat Radmadani, Shaqir Brahimi, Xheladin Salihu, Sadri Shabani and Agim Abdulahu with brutally beating Sloban Peric, age 51, and his mother Anka, age 77, in Gnjilane on March 17. The old lady died soon afterwards.
Monoghan said at a press conference that of the six accused only Abdulahu was on the run.
The accused face 20 years in jail if convicted.
During the March violence, 19 persons were killed, 35 churches and monasteries and about 800 Serb-owned houses were damaged or destroyed, and several thousand people had to leave their homes.
