Kosovo Force (KFOR) are planning to step up security measures in the province
ahead of parliamentary elections scheduled for next month.KFOR commander Yves Kermabo said at a joint press conference with UN
civil administrator Soren Jessen Petersen in Pristina on Monday that NATO would
send an additional 2,000 troops to ensure that the October vote passed
peacefully.
The two officials again called on Kosovo Serbs to go the polls and to
participate in political life in the province.
