According to a press release from Ljubljana, Vajgl underlined that Slovenia through diplomatic gestures called on Croatia as a future EU member to adopt as soon as possible the principles of good neighbourly conduct and resolving outstanding issues in a non-conflictual and peaceful fashion.
The incident mentioned above took place on Wednesday, when 12 Slovene nationals, including several senior officials of the Slovene People's Party, entered Croatia by avoiding border control. This elicited numerous political reactions in both Slovenia and Croatia, as well as concern in the European Commission.
