LJUBLJANA, Sept 23 (Hina) - Slovene President Janez Drnovsek said on
Thursday he expected Croatian bodies to apologise over yesterday's conduct
during an incident near the Plovanija border crossing, adding the incident
occurred on a disputed area which both countries claimed was their
territory."The incident occurred in a disputed border area where Croatian bodies
ought to be flexible, acknowledging the fact that the border hasn't been
finally defined and confirmed by both sides," Drnovsek said in a press
release.
He added such flexibility should especially be called for in the
treatment of "permanent residents" in said area and "their guests".
Drnovsek called on Slovene parties "to defuse the situation... act in
the European fashion and not let themselves be involved in similar incidents
again".
