The talks focused on the way Lithuania can help Croatia in the process of drawing closer to NATO and the European Union.
Lithuania joined NATO on April 2 and European Union on May 1. Croatia expects to start EU entry talks in March 2005.
"Lithuania has offered concrete help and will send its teams of experts to Zagreb. The structure of our team of negotiators will be very similar to the Lithuanian," Zuzul said.
Valionis reiterated Lithuania supported Croatia's aspirations to join NATO and the RU. He said he got acquainted with Croatia in the Vilnius Group (V-10).
The group still exists and will continue existing until its last member joins the wanted associations, Valionis said.
He expressed hope that Croatian Prime Minister would visit Lithuania this year and the President next year, after the presidential election.
The two countries do not have outstanding issues, but they need to advance economic cooperation. The Croatia-Lithuania trade in 2003 amounted to US$11 million, with Croatia's exports totalling 7.1 million and imports 3.9 million. Key economic agreements have already been signed while an air transport agreement is underway.
