During parliamentary question time, Ljubica Lalic of the HSS criticised Cobankovic and the government for first adopting a decision not to implement measures of protection against hailstorm and then changing the decision in July. Lalic said this was not enough time to prepare appropriate measures against hailstorm and prevent damage amounting to several million kuna.
There are two ways of satisfying the citizens -- compensation for damage which occurred due to the government's omissions or a resignation, Lalic insisted.
Cobankovic said that the former government, which the HSS was part of, had failed to adopt an operational hailstorm protection programme for 2004.
He confirmed, however, that there were some problems in the implementation of the hailstorm protection programme, but added that the government would prepare a new operational programme for 2004.
