The first autumn session is scheduled to last five weeks and according to the current agenda, deputies will discuss some 60 items. At the start of this morning's session, MPs added another six items on the agenda.
By the end of the autumn session, namely until mid December, parliament should adopt 33 laws that will be adjusted to EU standards. Deputies are expected to discuss a number of reports by institutions which are legally bound to inform parliament about their work once a year. MPs are also expected to discuss several political issues, such as the latest stand-by deal with the International Monetary Fund. A debate on the new IMF arrangement will indirectly address the work of the Ivo Sanader cabinet, notably its economic and fiscal policy.
Despite the announcements, the electronic way of voting was not installed this morninf and deputies had to vote the old-fashioned way.
