Vajgl said this when he was asked to comment on Croatian President Stjepan Mesic's statement that the Badinter commission had established that boundary-lines between former republics of the then Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (ICTY) became their state borders upon their independence.
"The president is mistaken. States define their borders bilaterally, or go to arbitration if they agree so," Vajgl said.
Croatian head of state earlier on Tuesday commented on some previous reactions of Slovene politicians to his statement that the land border between Slovenia and Croatia had been defined and known.
"I just repeated the conclusions of the Badinter Commission, which cannot be refuted or changed. As for the sea border, it's an open issue and we must settle it," Mesic said in the town of Klis in the Split hinterland.
